Do:
- Follow all pre- and post-care instructions provided by your skincare professional.
- Take prophylactic antiviral medication if you have a history of cold sores (must be prescribed prior to treatment).
- Allow natural peeling—let the skin shed on its own.
- Keep your skin hydrated with recommended post-peel products.
- Apply gentle sunscreen daily once peeling is complete.
Don't:
- Do not get the peel if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to any ingredients (including aspirin).
- Avoid if you’ve used Accutane within the past 4–12 months.
- Do not proceed if you have active skin infections, open wounds, sunburn, active cold sores, or uncontrolled eczema/psoriasis.
- Do not pick, peel, or pull flaking skin.
- Avoid heavy exercise, sweating, saunas, or hot tubs until peeling is finished.
- Avoid sun exposure before, during, and after the peeling process to prevent uneven pigmentation.
what to expect
During Treatment:
- The peel is applied in layers.
- You may feel mild tingling or stinging for 30–60 seconds.
- A fan or cool air can be used to increase comfort.
- The entire treatment typically takes less than 30 minutes.
Immediately after:
- Your skin will have a slightly flushed or bronzed appearance.
- Makeup and other skincare products should not be applied until the following day.
Days 1–2:
- Skin may feel tight or slightly darker in tone.
- No visible peeling yet. Continue to follow post-care instructions.
Days 3–5:
- Visible peeling begins—thin sheets or flakes of skin will shed.
- Do not pick or pull at the skin.
- Gentle cleansing, hydration, and post-peel products should be used as directed.
Days 6–7 (up to Day 10 for some clients):
- Peeling is generally complete, though for some skin types the process may take up to 10 days.
- Skin looks fresh, smooth, and radiant.
- Continue protecting your results with daily sunscreen and a simple skincare routine.
pre- and post-care
Discontinue retinoids or glycolic acids up to 3 days before treatment—even though the peel itself requires no formal preconditioning, avoiding these ensures minimal irritation.
Protect against cold sores: If you’re prone to cold sores, take prophylactic antiviral medication several days before to prevent flare-ups triggered by the peel.
Care is taken to consult with you about which treatment is right for you. During our consultation all pre and post care instructions will be discussed with you as well as any risk factors. Be sure to discuss medications, conditions, skin care products and sun exposure.
