Acne is such a difficult condition and has many factors that can contribute to the severity such as genetics and lifestyle.
Acne can be graded by severity, with the grade helping to determine the most appropriate treatment. It is NOT, however, a one-size-fits-all approach, but a guide.

The American Academy of Dermatology developed a grading scale in 1990 that classifies acne as mild, moderate, or severe:
Grade 1: Mild acne, characterized by comedones, or blackheads, and a few papules.
Grade 2: Moderate acne, characterized by comedones, papules, and a few pustules.
Grade 3: Severe acne, characterized by larger inflammatory papules, pustules, and a few cysts, and can affect the face, neck, and upper trunk.
Grade 4: Cystic acne, characterized by more severe cysts that become confluent.
A few important steps to controlling breakouts is to:

– reduce sebum production

Customized Facials
To begin with, a deep clearing facial is recommended for a clean slate. A Customized Facial using Microdermabrasion and current or a Hydraclear Facial will help to exfoliate, making way to clearer pores. For those ready to take the next step or those with cystic acne or discolored scarring, I recommend an IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) or laser treatment that includes exfoliation and clarifiers. Each treatment includes an exfoliation that removes the dull epidermal layer; stimulation to remove discoloration, encourage collagen production, and increases lymph activity; and penetration of key skin care products with powerful active ingredients. Exfoliation, heat and stimulation allow for increased absorption of these skin care serums and treatments.
IPL (similar to BBL) or other recommended customized laser treatments are an optimal, safe and effective way to target discoloration such as redness due to acne scarring. These can also be used to treat cystic acne as it can penetrate the cysts at a depth we can't with facial tools.
Red Light Therapy is a great add-on to any service for its healing and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Microneedling
Microneedling is the IDEAL treatment for texture, scarring, pore reduction and discoloration.
Collagen Induction Therapy with Microneedling triggers the body's healing response in order to repair and remodel scarred tissue. This treatment also allows for the penetration of Stem Cell Serum with Growth Factors and Clarifiers.

A Carbon Laser Peel is used to treat:
-Oily skin
-Acne
-Acne scarring
-Enlarged pores
-Congested pores
The Carbon Peel is a pain-free laser treatment primarily used to resurface and reduce oil production. This treatment includes a Carbon Mask which absorbs dirt, oil, dead skin cells and other debris from pores. A 1064 Qswitch laser is used to "blast" away the dried carbon taking the impurities and dead cells with it, leaving your pores CLEAR and your skin resurfaced.
It destroys acne-causing bacteria and reduces oil production. The high heat produced by the laser also benefits the skin by helping to create collagen, improving overall texture. The Carbon Peel shrinks enlarged pores, reducing congestion, which can help manage pimples and break-outs.
